What a perimeter actually has to hold
A commercial lot carries different stakes than a backyard. A fence line here is protecting inventory, equipment, and whoever locks up at night, and a weak spot in it, a cut in the mesh, a gate that won't latch, a post pulled loose by a backed-up truck, is an opening, not just an eyesore.

Galvanized chain link is still the standard for a working yard, a distribution lot, or a fenced storage area, because it goes up fast across a long run and holds tension under regular vehicle and foot traffic. Gates get sized and hung for how the property is actually used: a walk gate for staff, a wider drive gate for deliveries.
We build the framework first, corner and end posts set deep and braced, then run the mesh to a tension that won't sag by the first summer. A chain link fence that's already leaning six months after install almost always traces back to posts that were undersized for the job in front of them.
Chapter 03
Ornamental iron, track gates, and cantilever gates
Ornamental iron does more work for a business than security alone. A black iron line along a street-facing property reads as maintained and permanent in a way a chain link run doesn't, which matters for a business whose lot is the first thing a customer sees.
Track gates and cantilever gates cover the wider openings: a delivery entrance, a fleet yard, a lot that needs to open and close without a swing arc eating into the drive lane. Cantilever hardware in particular has to sit on a footing sized for the gate's own weight, not just the fence line's.

Access control fencing systems, automated gates, keypads, swing and cantilever operators, are how most of our commercial jobs end up getting used day to day. A perimeter is only as secure as the gate that opens it, and an operator that's been fighting the same fault for months is usually cheaper to replace than to keep patching.
We size footings and set posts for this specific ground. Pasadena clay swells and shrinks hard enough across a season to walk a gate post out of plumb if it wasn't set deep enough to begin with, and that's the single most common reason a commercial gate starts binding.
